Susan primarily creates her own patterns while occasionally utilizing commercial patterns, acknowledging the artistry of their creators.

The patterns for the 12 blocks were designed by Swirly Girls. Susan designed patterns for the miniature blocks and the tree block. The layout is also her original design.

Both these miniature quilts were created from the cutoffs of the larger quilt. The first one is 41 x 52 cm and has 508 pieces and is a replica of the original blocks, the second one is 34.5cm x 35.5cm and is made from 400 tiny squares.
